Words of wisdom
Ronnie Littlemore was born quite a while ago, as a result of being evacuated during the Second World War he realised there was more to life than Sunderland and joined the Merchant Navy in order to see the world. After an excruciating length of time, in which he saw the four corners of the engine room – and an odd pub in Australia, Ronnie returned to his native city and took up root in the corner of The Clipper. He has been happily married to Mrs Woman for decades and is the proud father to Peter and his three sisters and grandfather to many. He enjoys his trips to Toronto to visit his expatriate son and grandchildren.
He can be seen performing his work at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ofNpl3sz6c&feature=channel

More words from the North
About the first Words from the North;
“Gill’s debut anthology is a poignant and moving collection of poetry, prose and script-writing that encapsulates her versatility as writer. Although her verse is rooted in her native landscape, an invigorating warmth always shines through, addressing a much wider audience
The North East of England is an area of rich cultural diversity and strong literary traditions.
This unique collection combines poetry, fiction and drama and sparks with energy. One minute we are immersed in a Geordie pub that James Kelman would recognise; the next we enter the comic world of a sassy north-eastern Bridget Jones, losing herself in slushy pulp romances on the Metro. In between there are wonderful poems, and a murder mystery. “
Gill Laverick is a poet, storyteller and playwright. While embracing her native environment, her warm language and empathy for her characters is universal.
More words from the North is available to download now from the Bookshop for only £1.99.

You laughed at me twice today.
Is it strange that I remember?
Well, I did.
Normally I wouldn’t.
Once was for snorting when I laughed.
I always snort!
